What "romantic" means here (no plastic petals)
We do not decorate the desert: it does not need it. The honeymoon formula works three real levers. Distance — your tent two hundred metres from the main camp, far enough for privacy, close enough for service. Time — no morning schedule: breakfast waits for your waking, not the other way round. Attention — a small crew that knows how to appear at tea time and vanish at sunset. The luxury details are described on the luxury camp page; the honeymoon version mostly adds space and silence.
The three scenarios that work
- The escape — 3 days from Foum Zguid: two nights, one possibly in a privatized camp, the Oum Laâlag oasis to yourselves.
- The heart of the trip — 4 days from Marrakech: the desert as the summit of the Moroccan circuit, with the car-free day in the middle.
- The full loop — Marrakech, desert, Essaouira or the Draa as a tailor-made trip: we build the whole route and keep the surprises to ourselves.
The detail that matters: the season
October-November and February-April offer the mildest evenings for dinner outdoors; December-January, the most spectacular sky at the cost of an extra blanket (provided). If your wedding falls in summer, the night in the dunes is not reasonable — but an oasis night and dawn over Lake Iriqui make a sincerely beautiful plan B. The exact windows are in our guide to the best time to visit the Sahara.
Frequently asked questions
Can the camp be entirely private?
Yes — that is the honeymoon formula par excellence: your luxury tent pitched apart, your own fire, your own crew (a cook, a guide), and not another traveller on the horizon. Full privatization books up early in high season; outside holidays, a week's notice is often enough.
What is included in the honeymoon version?
With no hidden surcharge: the luxury tent with hotel bedding, a candlelit dinner served apart, a sunrise with no imposed schedule. Optional: full privatization of the site, mechoui, musicians for you alone, and the little attentions you entrust to us in secret — we are experienced in benevolent conspiracies.
Does the desert combine well with a classic honeymoon circuit?
Ideally: two or three desert nights slipped between Marrakech and Essaouira (or the Draa Valley) give the trip its rhythm — the bustle of the cities, then absolute silence, then the ocean. We organise the connections and can build the whole loop as a tailor-made trip.
